How to buy jewellery for your partner

May 6, 2012 · No Comments

Finding the perfect piece of jewellery for someone is easier said than done.  Whether it’s for a family member, friend or partner you want to get them something special and meaningful which also suits their taste and personality.

There is such a wide range of choice to be found in the shops so where exactly do you start?  Get some inspiration before you go shopping by looking online.  Having an idea in your head before you begin browsing round stores will make things a lot easier.  The Bentall Centre in Kingston has a variety of places to find the perfect piece of jewellery.

Fraser Hart is an ideal place to visit for precious metals and stones, Pandora is where creativity can be released giving you the chance to create something truly unique and Swarovski offers a beautiful range of crystal jewellery.

Diamonds symbolize love, commitment and friendship – remember that guys if you’re buying for your partner.  Observe what type of jewellery she likes to wear in general and on occasions as her choices may vary.

Knowing her favourite colours will help too as these can be incorporated into the piece that you finally decide to get her.  Women can also be picky about whether they prefer white, yellow or rose gold as these different shades can either compliment her skin tone or not.

Also if you are planning on buying her a ring make sure you know her size.  Sneak a peek at her jewellery collection to get an idea or even take one into a store to get measured – she’ll never know!

Most men may shy away from the thought of wearing jewellery but over the last couple of years or so it has become more popular with this gender.

Just remember ladies if you’re planning on getting your partner a piece of jewellery whether it is a watch, bracelet or necklace know his limits.  Don’t get him something super sparkly and full of bling – just because you like it doesn’t mean he will!

Chunky pieces are always a good place to start as they can be quite masculine but still provide the sense of wearing a lovely piece of jewellery.
